Welcome to the land of dreams -the land where thoughts were birthed in moments of inspiration.
Maybe it came to you when you were a kid, maybe at a movie theater, maybe from a story shared by a teacher or a photograph you saw. Inspiration can come from so many moments in our life.
What do you do with those inspired moments when dreams are born? Let them pass? Daydream about them in the shower? Or, do you acknowledge them and do whatever it takes to make them manifest?
Few actualize and live their dream.
Why?
Change creates fear. Our imaginations are just as good at dreaming as they are fabricating fear. For some of us the scale is tipped to be fixated on fear. Few have the ability to be fixated on dream creation.
What’s the secret sauce?
Baby steps
Just like the movie, “What about Bob” with Bill Murray. It’s all about baby steps. Here’s a great clip for better understanding.
Investigate your dream, there’s a wealth of information out there. Search out and question those that are doing what you want to do. Read about them, their biographies, and their challenges they had to overcome.
And then go further. Put yourself in environments where you can see it in action. Can you shadow anyone for a day, a half-day? Can you take them to lunch?
Dig Deeper and see yourself doing what you’d love. Imagine it, daydream about it. And let the fears go.
Know that fear is simply: False Evidence Appearing Real. It’s there for a reason, to keep you safe, and keep you alive, so don’t beat yourself up when fear surfaces. Simply acknowledge it and dismiss it. Then keep marching forward, looking for more moments of inspiration to link up.
Go for it.
Don’t regret a life you could have lived, to remain in a bubble of safe mediocrity.
If anyone else can, you can find a way to make it happen too.
