A HUGE dose of uncommonly common sense.
When we think of health, most of us think of feeling good and being able to do what we want.
Let me ask a question, “If I eat an entire chocolate cake and I proceed to vomit and have diarrhea, am I sick?” If I am sick, should I get a medication because my body isn’t functioning properly? Should I get a medical procedure done to fix my stupid stomach and colon because I want chocolate cake and now I can’t eat a whole flippin’ chocolate cake!?
Hmmm.
OR IS MY BODY WISE AND EXPRESSING HEALTH, (by evacuating as quickly as possible an overabundance of crap food), EVEN THOUGH I MAY BE EXPERIENCING SOME TEMPORARY, UNCOMFORTABLE SYMPTOMS?
The definition of Health (from the World Health Organization) is as follows: A State of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
Not merely the absence of disease or infirmity… (infirmity being mental or physical weakness).
So, in other words, my body can be expressing Health, but might not be functioning at 100% all the time.
So, in my attempt to pour on some common sense, let’s stop for a minute and realize what’s happened to our entire “Health Care System.” Basically, the Health Care System has sided with everyone’s desire to eat an entire chocolate cake in one sitting. They’ve said, “do you suffer from diarrhea and vomiting because you just ate a crap ton of crap? Well, we have the solution for you!” And because our society is hard-wired on the QUICK FIX mentality, we’ll gladly take whatever will shut up our stupid bodies’ symptoms (warning lights/signs) so we can get back to our chocolate cake ASAP!
My abrasive point is this: When you look at the body as WISE and doing whatever it can with whatever it has to sustain your existence, (a diet full of nutrients or a diet full of crap synthetic filler material) then you can view “Health Care” with a different perception. What we have now is really SICK CARE.
Your body isn’t broken. It’s talking to you. Always. We’ve just become very good at shutting it up. And in the meantime, we’re seeing CHRONIC DISEASES SKYROCET SO CANCER, DIABETES, HEART DISEASE, ETC… are now common in younger populations, IT’S SO FREAKING COMMON, IT’S A NEW FREAKING NORMAL.
Are you willing to go against the grain?
Then let’s stop treating symptoms and start listening to the body.
What are the basic foundational components required to be Healthy? Good water. Good food. Good sleep. Full breaths of clean air. Being kind. Being generous. Contribution. Love. Movement.
Before you get upset and think of a relative who has cancer, diabetes, heart disease and eats well, exercises, is happy, sleeps well, laughs a lot, etc…, etc…, I can fully explain why that happens, but not now. How about next week, in a separate blog post…let’s keep it simple for now. Just know, I get it and it can be frustrating.
Bottom line: for every human being, simply: get good consistent sleep. Drink more water, and maybe someday only water – good filtered clean water. Gravitate to real foods, if it grew from the earth it’s food, if it was mass produced in a factory, it’s not for consumption. Breathe deep often – take moments in your day to fill ALL your lungs full of oxygen. Let go of regrets and resentments, find ways to fall in love with humanity and no longer continue any conversations of hate or gossip or judgment. Fall in love with what you do every day. Be grateful, because you know there are millions if not billions that would love the life you have. And don’t forget to move your body. You are wired for motion. Get adjusted, walk regularly, exercise vigorously by finding something you love to do. Go out in nature and appreciate what you see.
It’s all very simple, and I realize simple doesn’t mean it’s easy. The recipe is there. Do what will create health and you’ll find the symptoms will stop flashing “warning signals.” You will feel and fully express more health. Start the process and realize it’s a process.
