Why you need to get comfortable with looking in the mirror
May 18, 2017

Before I explain the test, let me ask you a question: Do you like what you see in the mirror? I’ve explained before the most important part of your day, is how you start your day. This happens upon awakening by immediately saying to yourself: I am loved, or I am successful, or I am good enough. Your first 5 seconds upon awakening sets the tone for your entire day. If you can achieve that without hitting the snooze button, then you are well on your way to transforming your days ahead.

But step #2, usually after all that great stuff within the first 5 seconds is overshadowed by us walking in the bathroom where we find before us a gigantic mirror displaying all our whimsical dreams with every wisp of hair going in every direction imaginable. Then you may look at those sexy PJ’s and well, most people then get crushed, or have already become apathetic to the image they see in the mirror.

MIRROR

Why is this so sad and so important? No one will treat us better than the level of which we think of ourselves. I’ll repeat: NO ONE WILL TREAT YOU BETTER THAN THE LEVEL AT WHICH YOU PERCIEVE YOURSELF. If you don’t like what you see in the mirror, you are literally projecting a lack of self-worth to ALL those you interact with.

I know no one wants that. I also know it’s tough to fall in love with that image you see in the mirror. We are our greatest critic. But I also know this: If you can WIN the mirror test, you will WIN in life and WIN in your relationships.

So, what is the mirror test?

Here goes:

* Wake up (remember try not to hit the snooze and strive to repeat over and over either, “I am loved, I am successful, I am good enough)

* As you head to the bathroom, stop and look at your crazy bed head, your sexy PJ’s and repeat over and repeatedly the following phrase: “I LIKE MYSELF, I LIKE MYSELF, I LIKE MYSELF.”

* Don’t stop until you feel a shift inside.

You’ve got to fall in love with yourself and this is the best way to start.

Go for it, all out and watch your relationships, your success and your life improve.

To my knowledge, this mirror test originates from personal development coach, Brian Tracy. You can connect with his information here: www.briantracy.com.
