This week go somewhere away from town. Take a drive or a hike to somewhere quiet. Go somewhere where the only noise you hear are the jets overhead that you cannot escape. Sit and observe. See what comes to you. Just sit and observe and listen. Don’t get all wrapped up in your life and what’s going on or what you should be doing or what you did wrong. Just sit and listen. Observe. 5-10 minutes at least.

You will notice that everything is okay. Everything is really okay. And everything is going to be okay. You are but a blip of existence and all the problems you are facing today will seem very, very small as the years pass and you look back on this time in your life. In fact, think about your life 5 or 10 years ago, do you remember all the daily problems and struggles you faced then? Most likely not all the detail you are struggling with now. We tend to “sweat the small stuff” and not appreciate all the good we have right in front of our face.

Promise me you’ll do this. Take the time – go out in nature – somewhere quiet. Simply sit and observe and listen. Piece of cake. And do yourself a favor – make a habit of this!
