Only 40% of the population sets a New Year’s Resolution. 8% of them achieve it.
Whether you are in the club that sets a resolution or not, here’s some inspiration to create them Your Way and ensure your success.
Take a moment and reflect, what matters to YOU the most?
Rather than jump to what you feel is missing in your life, where you are lacking as a person, how out of shape/overweight you feel you are, how unorganized and chaotic your life may seem, how you don’t do anything new or exciting, how you spend too much and don’t save, on and on…try something different.
Set your Resolution on something you are already succeeding at. Where can you keep the momentum going? Where can you hone in, and fine tune and accelerate your already created progress?
Most of us immediately go to a place of lack and then we create an imaginary massive expectation of transformation in an unrealistic amount of time.
Get healthy/ Get fit/ Get organized/ Start a new hobby/ Spend less & save more/ Travel more / Read more / Live life to the fullest
All good stuff, right?
Here’s the problem though: when striving to go to a perceived AMAZING place that we feel we are NOT currently in, our focus quickly goes from the excitement of “What could be” to the realization of “What is.”
Alright, so all you have to do is to be silly for a bit.
Immediately grab a notepad/ a pen or pencil and start writing.
Start writing about what is successful right here and right now in your life. Trust that your subconscious will bring things to the surface. Honestly it doesn’t even matter if it’s things from years ago, awards you’ve won (honorable mentions maybe?). Write out where you are demonstrating and feeling successful, right here and right now in your life.

Then ask yourself, “Of these areas I am successful, what matters to me the most?” “Where can I get excited about continuing my path?” Create your resolutions from that place!
You will go from GOOD to GREAT!
Don’t go from lack, what’s missing, how much you feel you suck at something, and attempt to create positive energy about where you are going when you are nowhere near experiencing it.
Rather, go from where you are, to incrementally better. Create baby steps, and with consistency over time you will find yourself getting incrementally healthier, more fit, organized, participating in new hobbies and experiences, spending less and saving more, traveling and reading more and abso-frickin-lutely LIVING LIFE TO THE FULLEST.
