So, you may know me as a chiropractor. No, I’m not a “back pain specialist” dealing with car accident victims day in and day out. I am a chiropractor because your spine is your lifeline!
Check this stuff out:
- “90% of the stimulation and nutrition to the brain is generated by the movement of the spine.” – Dr. Roger Sperry (Nobel Prize Recipient)
- “Look to the spine for the cause of disease.” – Hippocrates
- “A man is as young as his spinal column.” – Joseph Pilates
- “The health of the human nervous system is directly proportional to the health of the spine.” -Janson Edwards, MD, PhD
- “Life is but the expression of Spirit through Matter. To make life manifest requires the union of Spirit and Body.” – DD Palmer (Founder of Chiropractic 1895)

The first organ you developed from in utero was the notochord, which became the spinal cord. From there the brain and the nerves to become all the organs that make you tick today.
Your nerve system controls and coordinates all the functions in your body. It is protected by your spine. Your spine is made of 24 vertebrae that protect your spinal cord and the nerves that exit to every cell, tissue and organ in your entire body, connecting and communicating to the trillions of cells that make you human and your life experience possible.
Life can be stressful, right? Well, due to physical, emotional or environmental stress, and since the spine is the center of all movement in your body, it gets to hold onto some of that stress as tension. The vertebrae can then fixate or misalign. In chiropractic, we call it a fancy word, Subluxation, and that’s what we correct, day in and day out, so you can heal and function in tip top shape.
So, while you may come see me because your back hurts, oh my, the possibilities I see for you are far more.

I hope if you are reading this you find yourself a good chiropractor and you practice daily movement of the spine.
Walking is great, yoga and Pilates and stretching are great too. Movement is key. And proper movement and function prevents degeneration of your spine and your life.
Get checked, get adjusted and get on with a great life, because your spine is your lifeline and when your spine is inline, you’ll be feeling mighty fine!
